Fjällräven Totepack No.1

I am, in my daily life, dependent on a bag that is durable and that allows me to carry a lot of stuff around. I have never been particularly picky when it comes to bags, but recently I found out that I wanted to invest in a bag that is robust and lasting. Usually I'll just buy the cheapest bag I can find that "looked neutral, feminine and durable", I have done this for the last couple of years. The bags usually were worn out after a year of intense use.

When I saw this bag in September this year, I knew I had to purchase it.

Fjällräven (arctic fox in swedish) is a swedish company founded in 1960 and specializing in outdoor equipment such as clothes, rucksacks, tents etc. Most people associates Fjällräven with the famous rucksack called "kånken".

This bag is made of G-1000 fabric. At the Fjällräven netshop site the fabric is described as: 

"A much tested outdoor classic, G-1000 is Fjällräven's own durable and adaptable fabric that keeps you ready for any type of adventure at any time of the year. The tightly woven fabric is wind and water resistant and extremely durable. It also provides excellent ventilation and dries quickly, which means it is just as practical for time spent in nature as it is for long trips and adventures to the farthest corners of the world.

G-1000 is made from a blend of 65% polyester and 35% cotton and is coated with a thin layer of Greenland Wax. The wax provides added protection from dirt, wind and rain, and can be easily added to or washed out, depending on where you will be wearing your garment. "

What I also like about the totepack is the versatility. You can either use it as a tote, bag or a rucksack.

My favorite cake!!

I found a cake recipe a while ago and decided to bake it in June and it has since been my favorite cake. I do not know the name of this particular cake, but I would characterize it as a brownie-cake, since it reminds me more of a brownie than of a cake. It's crispy outside, but very moist inside (in the middle). The most important thing is that it contains everything that I like in a cake: oreo, chocolate and cream cheese.

Here's the recipe (It's not the original one that I found, I have modified it a bit.):

200 gr flour
100 gr brown sugar
180 gr butter
2 eggs
200 gr chocolate
100 gr cream cheese
150 gr oreo cookies or some other ogreish cookies (I removed the white frosting)
1 tbsp of vanilla extract

Preheat the oven to 180C


The ingredients:

First, melt the butter, then mix it with the brown sugar (I used a hand mixer to give it a fluffy texture). Then add the eggs, flour and vanilla extract. When that is done, crush the chocolate into small pieces, remove the middle of the oreo cookies (in my case I used another brand, they taste quite the same) and crush the cookies into smaller pieces. 

Distribute half of the dough into a cake form and evenly distribute the cookies, chocolate and cream cheese on top. I also added some m&m into the dough. When you have done that, add the rest of the dough into the form:

Make a smooth surface:

Bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. The end result:

L'Occitane hand cream

My hands tend to get super dry in the autumn and winter months. L'Occitane has on many of these occasions come to my rescue. The formula and texture of this hand cream is thick and rich so you do not have to use a lot of cream to evenly distribute it on your hands, and the tube lasts longer. It is by far one of the best hand creams I've come across (and I've tried quite a few during my lifetime:)).

I bought a mini sized one so that I could have it in my purse wherever I go.

Oh yeah, I almost finish the big sized one, but don't worry I have another one in my drawer:)

I also purchased the L'Occitane foot cream, but I'm not too keen on this one. I've only used it twice, but  I'm still not convinced. I personally prefer the foot cream from Scholl, but I will use this up. Definitely not a repurchase. 

Fresh summer lunch

For lunch today I enjoyed a chickpea salad consisting of chickpeas, spinach, grated carrots and lots of grated Norwegian Jarlsberg cheese (the majority of the cheese is hidden underneath the chickpeas). I sprinkled a dressing over the salad. Perfect for a nice and warm day in July.

 I also had some peppermint tea from Yogi. I love yogi tea!

What's summer without good food?

Here are some of my favorite foods:

Grilled chicken filet with melted cheddar cheese on top and a fresh and delicious salad. Highly recommended!

Nothing can beat homemade sushi! Nigiri sushi with salma salmon (Norwegian salmon). I decorated some of the Nigiri pieces with sliced avocado. Yum!
